Redbud Winter

Redbud Winter. Yep it’s true.  It does exist.

It’s in the Cumberland Mountains already. Thursday and Friday were cold enough to turn the heat back on, but today has warmed up even more than yesterday.  As I load the pictures I’ve taken, I remember how much I loved the older folks talk about the different ‘winters’ each spring.  Always cold, but always beautiful in the colors it awakened.  So here is a quick pic for the color of Redbuds. From barren to buds

With the recent warm spell in the Cumberland Mountains,  you can now see buds peeking out from the trees.  Soon they’ll open up into beautiful blooms.   Seasonal changes in the mountains are always full of movement from the tops of the trees down to the earth, churning and making ready for new growth.  Nothing quite tops the changing seasons of the mountains. We hope you’ll join us as spring begins again, turning the barren lands of winter into lush mountains escapes.
